Our carefully planned itinerary begins with a day in Delhi, before travelling to Agra – with an unforgettable early morning encounter with the Taj Mahal, at its resplendent best before the crowds arrive. Stopping off at the sumptuous Mughal capital of Fatehpur Sikri, cycling through the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, with a long ride the following day to Sariska National Park. This beautifully located reserve, our destination for two nights, is home to an abundance of wildlife, including tigers, leopards and nilgai antelopes.

The tour takes in three magnificent Rajasthani cities: Jaipur, Udaipur and Jodhpur. We’ll spend two nights in each, allowing plenty of time to explore their rich heritage and culture. From Jaipur, cycle across a landscape dotted with dramatic fortresses, reminders of the Rajputs and their warrior past, to reach the sacred city of Pushkar, set around a stunning lake, and then on to the remarkable stone fort at Kumbhalgarh.

The last days of the tour are spent in beautiful lakeside Udaipur and the amazing blue-coloured city of Jodhpur with its imposing fort, before fly back home via Mumbai or Delhi.

Short Description

This cycling tour explores northern India’s most colourful and exotic state. Visiting forts, palaces, temples, city monuments and remote villages, as well as taking in two wildlife reserves and some beautiful scenery, it’s the perfect way to gain real insight into the many faces of Rajasthan.

Detailed Itinerary

 
Day 1: Arrival - Delhi

Arrive Delhi, transfer to hotel

Arrive at the international airport of Delhi. After a traditional 'Swagat' (Welcome) our representative would assist you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel for check-in. Rest of the day is free to relax and explore the market.

Day 2: Delhi Sightseeing

Delhi, morning cycling tour and later sightseeing (Cycle 22Kms)

Today early morning we explore New Delhi by our cycles, as this is the best time to do cycling and get essence of the city. Later we return back to hotel and relax. During afternoon, we proceed for the sightseeing tour of Delhi visiting Jama Masjid; it is the largest and best-known mosque in India. Rajghat - the memorial to Mahatma Gandhi, we drive past India gate and Government buildings. (Cycle approx. 22Km).

Day 3: Delhi - Agra Sightseeing

Drive to Agra and afternoon visit Agra fort

This morning after breakfast we drive from Delhi to Agra (Distance: 240Km appx). During afternoon, we visit Agra Fort whose mighty red sandstone walls enclose the beautiful white marble Pearl Mosque and the palaces, halls, courtyards and fountains of his sons and successors, Jahangir and Shah Jahan. The Fort can be more accurately described as a walled palatial city. Evening free time to explore.

Day 4: Agra Sightseeing - Bharatpur

Morning visit Taj Mahal and Fatehpur Sikri and then drive to Bharatpur, visit national park on cycles (Cycle 10Kms)

Today we wake-up early morning to visit the beautiful white marble Taj Mahal (remain closed on every Friday) at sunrise. Taj Mahal is a symbol of eternal love which stands on the banks of River Yamuna. It was built by the 5th Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died in 1631. The Taj Mahal is serenely beautiful and never fails to amaze a first time visitor. Afternoon, we drive to Fatehpur Sikri (Distance: approx. 40Km). Fatehpur Sikri is the deserted royal city constructed by the Mughal Emperor Akbar. This impressive and well-preserved citadel served as the political capital of India's Mughal Empire under Akbar's reign. Later we drive to Bharatpur (Distance: 35km approx.); Reach & check-in at hotel. Then we visit Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary also known as Keoladeo National Park by bike; it is a famous avifauna sanctuary that sees (or saw) thousands of rare and highly endangered birds such as the Siberian Crane come here during the winter season. Over 230 species of birds are known to have made the National Park their home. (Cycle approx. 10Km).

Day 5: Bharatpur - Sariska

Transfer to Mahwa then cycle to Sariska (Alwar) (Cycle 80 Kms)

This morning we will be transferred to Mahwa (Distance: 65km approx.); from here we start cycling towards Sariska (Alwar). The landscape of Sariska comprises of hills and narrow valleys of the Aravali hill range. The topography of Sariska supports scrub-thorn arid forests, dry deciduous forests, rocks and grasses. The broad range of wildlife here is a wonderful example of ecological adoption and tolerance and the climate here is variable as well as erratic. Upon arrival we check-in at the hotel and relax. (Cycle approx. 80km).

Day 6: Sariska Sightseeing

Sariska National Park, morning game drive, afternoon visit rural village

Early morning we enjoy a game drive in the national park and during afternoon we can visit rural village by cycle or by walk and get a chance to interact with local villagers and observe their culture.

Day 7: Sariska - Jaipur

Cycle to Jamwa Ramgarh, then drive to Jaipur (Cycle 85Kms)

Today morning after breakfast we start cycling from Sariska to Jawa Ramgarh then we board the vehicle and drive towards Jaipur (Distance: 50km approx.). Jaipur is popularly known as the Pink City and is the colorful capital of Rajasthan with its rich cultural heritage and colorful past. (Transfer | Cycle approx. 85km).

Day 8: Jaipur Sightseeing

After breakfast, we drive to the ancient capital of Amber, 11 km away from Jaipur. Famous for its massive Amber Fort, Amber was the ancient capital of Kachhawaha dynasty for 6 centuries. We take an Elephant ride to reach the Fort situated on the hill, an overwhelming experience. Later, we proceed to the City Palace, a perfect blend of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture. Further we visit Jantar Mantar (Solar Observatory), an astronomical treasure house, with solar devices that give accurate predictions till date. We also visit Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), a five-storied structure of pink sandstone.

Day 9: Jaipur - Pushkar

Transfer to Naraina railway crossing; then cycle to Pushkar (Cycle 96Kms)

Today morning we will be transferred to Naraina Railway crossing (Distance: 65km approx.) and then we start cycling towards Pushkar via Rupangarh. Pushkar is one of the oldest existing cities of India. It lies on the Shore of Pushkar Lake. The date of its actual origin is not known, but legend associates Brahma with its creation. Day 10: Pushkar Sightseeing - Kumbhalgarh

Pushkar, Visit Lake and Brahma temple, cycle to Kumbhalgarh (Cycle 60Kms)

Morning after breakfast we visit Pushkar Lake and temple, Pushkar Lake is an important pilgrimage spot for Hindus and considered to be a sacred lake. Pushkar has the only temple of Lord Brahma in the country and one of the few in the world. Lord Brahma is known as the creator of the world as per the Hindu mythology. Later we ride till Ajmer Mor and then we will be transferred to the next point that is Gomti Circle. Then we again continue our ride towards Kumbhalgarh; reach there and check-in at the hotel. (Cycle approx. 60Km).

Day 11: Kumbhalgarh - Udaipur

Morning cycle to Iswal then transfer to Udaipur (Cycle 60Kms)

Today morning we visit Kumbhalgarh fort, located on a hill top, is the second most important fort of Rajasthan after Chittorgarh fort. The fort is also a World Heritage Site and it was built in 15th century by the ruler of Mewar Maharana Kumbha and enlarged through the 19th century, Kumbhalgarh is also the birthplace of Maharana Pratap, the great king and warrior of Mewar. Later we do cycling to Iswal then transfer from Iswal to Udaipur by surface. (Distance: 30Km approx.) (Cycle approx. 60Km).

Day 12: Udaipur Sightseeing

Udaipur sightseeing by cycle (Cycle 25Kms)

This day we explore Udaipur by our cycle; visit the City Palace, located peacefully on the banks of Lake Pichola. This palace is the most-visited tourist attraction of Udaipur and often distinguished as the largest palace complex in Rajasthan. Initially, Maharana Udai Singh built this superb wonder, but the present form of the Palace is the result of subsequent additions by his successors. Later we visit Jagdish Temple, the Indo-Aryan temple built in the year 1651 AD by Maharana Jagat Singh, is the largest and the most beautiful temple of Udaipur with noteworthy sculpted images. In the afternoon, we visit Sahelion ki Bari (Garden of Maids of Honour) is an ornamental garden built by Maharana Sangram Singh for his daughter and the Ladies of the Queen's court. Late afternoon an optional boat ride on Pichola Lake can be arranged. (Cycle approx. 25km).

Day 13: Udaipur - Jodhpur

Morning cycle to Ranakpur; then transfer and cycle to Jodhpur (74Kms)

Morning we will be transferred by surface till a highway junction (appx.1hr drive) and then we start 1st half cycling. Later drive to Jain Temple in Ranakpur. Ranakpur is situated in the mountain ranges of Pali and home to a beautiful and one of the biggest and most important Jain temple complexes of India which is one of the five most important pilgrimage sites of Jainism. Later we will be transferred by surface till Rohat Pali (Distance: 175Km) then we again start our 2nd half cycling till Jodhpur hotel. Upon arrival we check-in at the hotel and relax. Day 14: Jodhpur Sightseeing

Jodhpur sightseeing by cycle (Cycle 20Kms)

This morning after breakfast we start the sightseeing of Jodhpur city by bike; it is the second largest city in Rajasthan after Jaipur. We visit the Mehrangarh Fort also known as Majestic Fort; one of the most impressive and formidable structures in India. It is an architectural marvel which spreads over an area of around 5km; this imposing structure overlooks the city of Jodhpur. Then we also ride towards Jaswant Thada, a cluster of royal cenotaphs in white marble built in the year 1899 AD in the memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. Within the main cenotaph are the portraits of various Jodhpur rulers. Later we cycle back to our hotel and relax. (Cycle approx. 20km).

Day 15: Jodhpur - Delhi

Departure transfer to airport to board flight from Delhi or Mumbai, onwards international flight

This day you will be transferred to the Jodhpur airport to board the onward flight for back home via Mumbai or Delhi.
